Integrating physical activity in children’s lives is essential for creating a foundation of movement and activity that they will carry with them throughout the rest of their lives.

Our public classes allow parents and caregivers to see and/or participate in their child’s development first hand. Our classes are held throughout the day and in a variety of environments including local community centres, Monkeynastix venues, dance studios etc.

Tremendous Toddlers - 2-3 years

Our Tremendous Toddlers are itching to move, to learn, and to interact in a positive and fun environment with friends and interactive teachers. Knowing the importance of daily active play, we encourage a variety of body movements in this energetic class that assists in the development of fundamental movement skills.

Kids and parents will notice these classes are more structured than in the Babynastix classes; the shift from exploring to fine-tuning our ABCs of movement is apparent. Our Tremendous Toddlers enjoy a fun packed Monkeynastix lesson with a variety of safe music and activities for toddlers.

Each class begins with a fun Monkeynastix song, stretching positions, locomotion and fine motor activity. Using our specialized equipment, children then participate in a gross motor circuit which focuses on developing a specific skill each week, such as balance (balance beam), strength (p-bar), gross motor skills (post box) etc. Finishing our fun packed lesson, our 2 to 3 year olds participate in a closing activity, where we work on children’s manipulative skills in sport development. The lesson ends with a closing song and Monkeynastix sticker changing weekly. New equipment and lessons are introduced weekly.

Playful Early Years – 4 to 7 years

Help your child develop remarkable self image and self confidence through the individual success they achieve in our program using our specialized equipment and more challenging classes!

Building on the Fundamental Movement Skills acquired, our 4-7 year old members continue to further develop the ABC’s of Movement – Agility, Balance, Co-ordination and Speed.

Each class begins with a warm up which includes a fun energetic Monkeynastix song, challenging stretching positions, locomotion and fine motor activity.  Children then participate in a main activity circuit with sub stations focusing on a particular theme such as balance, strength, floor skills, cardio, speed and agility etc.  Ending the class with a manipulative activity children are introduced to sport skills such as kicking, catching and throwing.

We end our energy packed lesson with a fun closing song.  Stickers are given out for a job well done! New equipment and lessons are introduced weekly expanding on the lessons learned the prior week.

* Skill assessments done every spring.

MonkeySPORT- 8 to 12 years

Monkeynastix helps develop fundamental movement skills that children need to play sports successfully.

Having developed the foundations of fundamental movement skills, our 8-12 year old members will begin refining their fundamental movement skills by introducing them to the fundamental sport skills (i.e.: running, jumping, catching, kicking, throwing, swinging, and hitting).Through our warm-up, children will learn the importance of warming up and preparing for exercise.

After warm-up, kids will work on drills and games aimed at developing fundamental sport skills — running, jumping, catching, kicking, throwing, swinging and hitting; which are the basic sport building blocks. Learning these fundamental sport skills allows children to play several sports with ease.

Our goal is to get children 8-12 years old “sport ready” and physically literate so they stay active for life!

*Skill assessments done every spring.
